# Data Polling Intervals in Data Hub

> How Data Hub controls how often data is pulled in from a connected data source, and where that interval is configured.

Data Hub doesn't have a general-purpose sync scheduler with cron expressions or configurable retry/notification policies. Whether a data source has a configurable interval — and what it controls — depends on the source type.

* **Push-based sources** (Obvius, JACE, CSV) send data to Data Hub on their own schedule; there is no pull interval to configure on the Data Hub side.
* **Polled sources** — for example, Motion — have a **polling interval** field (in minutes) set on the data source's configuration form, controlling how often Data Hub requests new data from that integration.

<Note>
  This page is a stub. The exact set of source types with a configurable polling interval, and where that setting lives in the UI, needs to be confirmed and filled in — see [Connecting Data Sources](/guides/connecting-sources) for source-specific setup details in the meantime.
</Note>

## Checking whether a source is receiving data

Rather than a sync-run history, each **variable** shows a live **data reception** state — Online (receiving data normally) or Offline (no data for more than 12 hours). See [Core Concepts](/core-concepts#variables) for details.
